When scheduling this service, ask the client if they have researched the timeframe for when the health certificate needs to be completed. Many airlines require the health certificate to be performed within a specific date range prior to the flight (such as 7-10 days in advance). We will also need full records from their prior veterinary hospital as needed.

INFORMATION REQUIRED AT SCHEDULING:

• Exact address of pet’s destination
• Airline pet will be flying on
• Date pet will be flying

Add all the above information in “Reason for appointment” and send the information in a memo to “CVH Doctors (User Group)”.

When scheduling any health certificate or traveled related appointment please refrain from scheduling before a doctor goes to lunch, we want to leave enough time for the doctor to complete everything correctly.

Why does it cost so much for this service?

For all health certificates, doctors must research the requirements of the state and airlines prior to the appointment. Each state and airline are different. The cost for completing this service includes doctor administrative work.

I’ve never flown with a pet before, what do I need to know?

Each state and airline have different requirements. We recommend clients research this process at least two months prior to their trip as they may be required to complete different documentation and obtain specific vaccines for their pet.  Why don’t you provide international health certificates?

Each country has unique requirements for traveling with pets that requires extensive research for the doctor performing the exam/health certificate. Our hospital has elected to focus doctor resources on primary veterinary services such as sick pet, urgent care, and other wellness needs.
